About the San Antonio Riverwalk
The San Antonio Riverwalk is situated along the banks of the majestic San Antonio River. Also known as the “Paseo del Rio,” this network of bridges and walkways is located underneath historic downtown San Antonio.
The San Antonio Riverwalk was initially developed to preserve the San Antonio River Bend and the city’s historic Spanish colonial missions, but has evolved into one of San Antonio’s top tourist attractions. Where is the San Antonio Riverwalk located?
The San Antonio Riverwalk is 15 miles long and covers approximately 5 miles of the downtown San Antonio area, so there is no official address for the Riverwalk. However, we recommend using the address for the “Shops at Rivercenter,” which is located directly on the Riverwalk. The address to the Shops at Rivercenter is 849 E. Commerce Street San Antonio, Texas 78205.
What time is the Riverwalk open and what time does it close?
The Riverwalk is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
How much does it cost to visit the San Antonio Riverwalk?
The Riverwalk is a public park and is free to visit.
Can I bring my dog for a walk on the Riverwalk?
Dogs are allowed on the Riverwalk as long as they are leashed. Many of the outdoor restaurants and patios even offer pet friendly menus! Dogs are also allowed at the Emily Morgan, San Antonio’s pet-friendliest hotel!
Can I explore the San Antonio Riverwalk by boat?
Yes! Visitors can hop a boat tour or boat taxi ride through Rio San Antonio Cruises. After you explore the riverwalk by foot see the sights of the Riverwalk by water!
